Dream Journal April 12, 2007

I am in a museum, and looking at a poster of Dali's "The Sacrament of the Last Supper". I'm looking at a poster instead of the real image because another museum is currently borrowing the real painting, and this museum has a poster up temporarily in its place.

Note: The Sacrament of the Last Supper is one of my favorite paintings. I had a chance to see the real thing at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. a couple years ago.

Note #2: I couldn't remember any dreams this morning, however, after coming back from a walk I took on my first break, I saw the Dali book that I keep on my desk at work and I remembered that I had the dream.

Note #3: Just something interesting to note, that today is the 12th, and Dali said about the painting, that it is "an arithmetic and philosophical cosmogony based on the paranoiac sublimity of the number twelve...the pentagon contains microcosmic man: Christ".

Note #4 to self: Notice the pentagon in the painting. I need to learn more about sacred geometry!

Very cool dream. Lot's of meanings could be interperted from this dream. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe dreams are old unconscious or subconscious thoughts becoming conscious, especially the ones we keep avoiding or suppresing. Anyway often we are unconscious of our thoughts before we become aware of them.
A religious or spiritual question is being brought up here. Maybe you are trying to consider Christianity in the person of Jesus as a path to enlightenment. But you are examining it thru a less authentic interpretation. And you are trying to look at it objectively, mathematically in exact terms. Mathematics being the language of the exact sciences like chemistry and physics.
No further comments to add to the number 12.

Thanks, Mark! I thought it was a cool dream, too. When I remembered it, I had a feeling of "Wow".

Hi Anonymous,

Who knows, maybe dreams are old subconscious thoughts brought about by the memory of the soul that has gathered knowledge through reincarnation. I mean, the thoughts accumulate over many lifetimes.

I am not considering Christianity as a path to enlightenment, although I do respect the religion and its followers. I think the true message is that the kingdom of heaven is found within and all around, not just in a book or one single person.

At least you haven't changed your mind yet. Inspite of the Unitarian Church. Or maybe I don't what they teach.

Most Unitarians don't believe in Jesus as a deity, but instead as a moral leader. They believe in the Oneness of God.

Here's an article on Unitarians:

Oh yes, I'm very familiar with this brand of Christianity. As opposed to the Trinitarian. They hate each other.
These Christians don't think that Jesus is God the Son. Altho they believe he is Savior and Lord. They are even more dogmatic than the average Christians. I know this because they keep arguing that Jesus is just an ordinary man. ;>)

From what I've seen and read about UUs, they are accepting of all religions. A couple years ago I was looking at the schedule of one of the local UU churches, and it said that in May they were going to be doing a Maypole Dance. Well, Maypole Dances are Pagan in origin! Not too many Christian churches would be doing something like that! Although, many Christians probably don't realize either that the Christmas tree is also Pagan in origin.

I used to be a member of a Christian fellowship, that is very biblical and fundamental. They even practice excommunication. In fact I remember at one time the leaders excommunicated a young woman for fornication, sex before marriage. I mean after she chose to live-in with her boyfriend. Before that she was required to confess her sins publicly in order to be forgiven.

Sometimes I get the idea Christianity is all about making sure people don't commit any sins. And if they do they will be put to shame publicly on earth and in heaven at the Last Judgement.
This is what seems to come into my head when I think of Christianity.

Well, I found out knowledge and conforming is not the way to be free of fear. But Ignorance.
