Pooh, and Piglet, Too

While camping a couple days ago I read "The Tao of Pooh" out loud to my husband. He started losing his eyesight a while ago and now doesn't read books because of it. It's the first time I've ever read an entire book to him. Both of us had a great time with this little gem of literature. (It's possible that a tradition has begun, for already I have been planning on reading "The Wind in the Willows" to him.)

Has anyone read "The Tao of Pooh"?

Ten minutes ago I ordered the companion book, "The Te of Piglet". I've already prepared my husband for a reading and I can't wait until it arrives in the mail!

"The Sayings of Confucius" still sits on my bookshelf. Maybe I'll read it after Piglet.

I read the Tao of Pooh years ago - back in 01, IIRC. I'm willing to read it again if you'd like someone to bounce thoughts off about it.

Would you like to do lunch sometime soon so you can meet Miss Gillian? The kids are still in school so I'm free during the week, I just have to be home by 1615 when they get off the bus.

Give me a call or shoot me an email, and we'll go from there.

With hope,
~ Christi

There's something called The Tao of Programming that's purdy good, too.

Hi Christi,

I promised a friend I'd send it to him in the mail in the next couple days and I can't find a digital copy online to look at as we discuss it. I can probably buy another copy, though. It would be nice to have someone to talk about it with. Have you read the Te of Piglet?

I would love to meet little Gill!

Is this the kids' first year in public school? I thought you were homeschooling?

I tried earlier this month to get onto your blog but it's locked. I left a comment but didn't hear back from you so I thought maybe you had REALLY gone private.

Is next Wednesday a good day for you? I'll send this in email, too.

Don,

Wow... that's the crowning moment of Computer Geekery. :)

Well, true, it was a hit in this programming group I was part of many years ago.

Of course I mean "computer geekery" as a term of endearment. At one time I was majoring in computer science and I was the true computer nerd. After all, as you know, for four years I worked as a consultant in the university's computer lab.

My mom majored in computer science when I was a kid and she used to bring me and my sister in to class with her. She also took us into the computer lab to sit with her as she did her computer homework, the very computer lab that I ended up employed in years later!
