Ahh Sophia, Surely you exagerate, or should I say, 'surely "I" exagerates'. :)

One of my all time favorites, this painting, and YOU of course.

This is progress, keep up the good work, love abounds!

I am going into hospital for some time, maybe a day, maybe more, nothing serious, so I am early this week, usually wed nite, but may not be able to be around then, so just saying hello Sophia!

Alex,

I wasn't aware that you were moving. Are you moving far from where you live now? Will you be alone or do you have family that is going with you?

By the way, I know your B.I.D.E. blog seems to contain mostly Baha'i texts, but do you have another blog that speaks about your personal life, such as your move? If you do, I'd be interested in finding this blog.

If not, maybe you could tell me more here about your move. Such as, will you be moving into an apartment or a house? When will the move take place? Do you have any plans once you get there? How far away from where you live now are you moving?

Lots of questions.

Mossy,

This could be true. Sometimes it seems like that painting is how I feel. But the next day I change my mind and think, "Nah, it's not so bad." It's a shame there's really no such thing as time, because time sure does seem to heal.

Jim,

I've always loved this painting. I'd really like to have a framed print of it, perhaps for my computer room, even though it is a bit grim. There's something about it. It really seems to point out how hopeless things sometimes seem.

Re: the hospital - I sent you an email. Please respond ASAP!

Moving about 4 whole miles to a studio apartment near all the shopping I need and, most important near a groovy coffee shop with WiFi!!!

Living alone 'cause that's the way it is...

Gonna write a lot,,,

Will probably be starting the more personal blog soon (which will also be a "business" blog--whole food supplements).

Sophia, this painting is from a time and a culture that was undergoing huge and drastic changes, those realities were the cause of lots of expressions of the 'mad' and the 'strange'. I think that we today in this world are experiencing such a period, hence the prevalence of depressions and odd mental phenomena among the populace, it is a response to the cultural realities hidden by the facades of normalcy, this world is NOT normal and not conducive of normalcy or stability.

I could paint such paintings today, so could you, maybe you should get some colors and papers and boards, start working at home, by hand dear, not just computer, art is great, making manual art, is great for getting perspective, be wild, be abstract, incorporate comicbook style realism and get loose an crazy in the paint and such, enjoy it, it is great therapy and great for ones' personal use of time. Need help, write me!

Alex,

WiFi??! Wow... you have a laptop? I'm impressed. I've drooled over laptops a time or two before. I almost gave in and bought one recently, but now I'm glad I didn't because I really can't afford one. There's something neat-o about having all your computing needs packed up in a little box that you can carry around with you.

I wish you the best on your move. Do you have people helping you move or did you have to hire movers or doing it all alone?

Hi Jim,

These days it does seem as if more and more people are experiencing depression and other mental illnesses. I don't know if it's because more people suffer from it than decades ago, or if more people are just admitting it. The world is getting more and more difficult to cope with from my perspective. It's not easy like it was when I was a kid. Growing up and being an adult is hard work. I don't know how so many people manage to be prepared for it.

I'm not much of an artist, unless I use the computer, as you have seen from my artwork in the past. But I do enjoy coloring in mandalas, and even rarely I'll color in a coloring book just because it brings me back to the peace I experienced as a child.
