The Love Letter

Last night, as I lay in the bed preparing myself to fall asleep, I landed in a bit of hypnagogic imagery. Having recently been focusing on clearing my thoughts, in my prone position I emptied my head and rested, fully conscious. In this emptiness the images appeared, like little visions that I once had before. The pictures just flashed in my mind's eye, and then quickly disappeared. Here, is a small poem inspired by the view.

A smile and a wave
Two hands intertwined
You press your fingers to my lips
To keep my words from escaping
Planting a letter into my palm
A love note that must go unspoken
I'm never going to let you go unloved

TOP PORTUGUESE UNIVERSAL WRITER: CRISTOVAO DE AGUIAR.

He has, also, translated into Portuguese the Wealth of Mations by Adam Smith.

He has been awarded several prizes.

Don't forget the name of this great author, you'll be hearing of him soon.

Thank you for spending time in Universal Culture.

Please don’t erase this coment from your blog.

Thanks for visiting.

Time to turn on the spam filter again.

Anyway the poem is great. Good use of inspiration.

Love...The real meaning of the word is that the universe does have our best interests at heart. It's built into the system. Nothing need be done to have this. It is happening all the time. This is the most natural event, yet one of the most difficult to accept.

Just another way of saying it is all one.

I think he came here from my blog--- lapa. He was apparently involved in the child kidnapping in Portugal; at least in the sense that he blogged about it.

I really like your little poem. Sometimes great feeling can come from few words.

Lapa (and anyone else who is trying to sell something),

DO NOT USE MY BLOG TO ADVERTISE!

Thanks.

OK, carry on now.

Mossy,

This is the second spam I have received in less than one month's time. (The first was from someone going by "You Are Amazing", trying to send me to some flowery annoying site called "The Omega Shift".) These two spams are the only two I've received since starting this blog in February. If it starts to become a nuisance, I will probably have to turn on the word-verification thingie. I hope I don't have to do that, because I like to make commenting easy on people. OK, I'll try to stop complaining now. :)

Anyway, thanks for the compliment. Glad you liked it. As usual it's short and not very glamorous, but it's all I could come-up with at the time. :)

Hi Anonymous,

Hmm... Spanish? I've had about six or seven years of it in high school and college combined, but I have sadly forgotten most of it! When I went to Mexico a couple years ago, I was able to communicate, albeit slowly and simply, with the residents.

By the way, who is Adam Smith?

Thanks. Love to you, too!

Sigurd,

Now you have that song in my head!

"Love, love, love.... Love, love, love... there's nothing you can do that can't be done...."

All you need is love!

Joe,

Not too long ago, I thought love was just an emotion between two lovers, a very earthly experience. But lately, my understanding of love has changed and I can see it for what it really is. My perception of love has expanded greatly, reaching to new heights. Thank goodness for this. :) If only I had known what real love really is when I was younger, I might have saved myself some heartache.

Hi Goatman (I almost typed Boatman),

I didn't read enough to see about his involvement in the kidnapping. I'm usually hesitant at first to consider something spam, but when I see the same comment on other blogs, well, it doesn't exactly infuriate me, but it does rock my boat a little. I've already beat off another spammer with my stick.

I'm happy you like the poem. Sometimes I feel a little self-conscious about them, because they're so simple. I wonder how other poets can make theirs so extravagant.

I got some 'you are amazing' spam too, hope it stops.

Beautiful poem Sophia, wonderful.

Adam Smith, I believe is the father of the theory of capitalism, the antithesis of Marx/Lenin communism, I have little use for either.

I am this anon. Sorry, just in a hurry.

You know I am into the Hebrew Text, so let me tell you that the world accepts the books of Moses as given by 'God' who is named Jehovah, that name transliterates to "LOVE", so 'love' for us humans is God, ie, Jehovah, and Love is His/Her name. Therefore it is an EXPANSIVE and COMPLETE LOVE, a LOVE beyond differences, a LOVE that is BOUNDLESS in scope and meaning, but not a selfish, small, self-motivated love, not a dirty love, not a polluted love, it is a WONDERFUL LOVE, and all human sex and human caring and speech should be modeled on it, be, in LOVEs' image.

Just a thought. Love to you Sophia.

Jim,

I've seen so-called "You Are Amazing" touting the Omega Shift all over the spirtual blogosphere. At first you think, OK, I'll go check out this person's spiritual page and see what they're about. Then you find out that they're only trying to sell you their "courses".

What kind of math did they have to do to figure out that Jehovah meant Love? Only a Kabbalist would know. :)
