A New and Improved Peabody

I am just taking a short siesta from the journey to enlightenment, and thought I'd quickly show you some photos of that dog we rescued on June 25th of this year.

This is Peabody on June 25th, straight off the streets:

This is Peabody today. Look at how happy he looks! And check out those lean muscles:

OK. Siesta is over. Journey to enlightenment will resume. I'll answer comments tomorrow! Thanks!

Motherwintermoon,

Thanks! I'll tell Peabody that you think so! Yes, I do talk to the pets! :)

Lucid,

Peabody is anything but innocent. He's always getting into something!

Thanks. I hope you have a good weekend, too!

Takes LOVE to make a GOOD dog, you have done it Sophia.

Jim,

I couldn't have done it without the love that Peabody has shown me in return.

Of course, I've been spoiling him. I buy him too many toys, and he likes toys more than any dog I've ever met, and I've had five other dogs in my life, although one of them I was too young to remember. Peabody likes for me to play tug-of-war with him using some of his squeaky toys, and he has a toy that he doesn't chew on but carries around with him frequently. It's a stuffed cat, that when pressed in the right spot, goes, "Meow, meow, meow". He carries it around so much, that it reminds me of a young child with their security blanket. Peabody is four or five years old and still loves toys! I can't get my older dog to do anything with toys, let alone fetching balls, and she never wanted to play even when she was younger. But they're all special in their own ways. My older dog is a gentle soul.

The little guy looks healthy and fit. And has what passes for a dog-smile on his face. And a wagging swish of a tail blur. Nice shot.

Goatman,

He was smiling!

But don't let that smile fool you. He can be grouchy when he's chewing on a rawhide bone or when he's sleeping! I know what they mean now by, "Let sleeping dogs lie." :)

Thanks, Leighton!

The only times he's not so beautiful is when he's stolen one of my shoes and is running down the hall with it in his mouth.

About three and a half weeks ago I was a bit embarrassed by him. We had company, and the woman was wearing these nice shoes. She took them off and laid them on the floor, but I didn't know about it until I saw Peabody running down the hall with one of her shoes in his mouth. Luckily I got to it before he tore it to smithereens!

He can be naughty at times, but he gets away with everything because he's so cute.
