My Desktop

This is what my desktop looks like right now.
I also downloaded a cool aquarium screensaver.
I tag everyone to post your desktop to your blog!

Twit,

Don't be a party pooper!

;)

C'mon, I never tag anyone. This is a first!

I'm still going to sneak over to your blog to see if you were at least tempted.

Wait, maybe I have tagged once before. I remember now. It was that what's-in-your-purse gig.

I carry a toothbrush and glasses, eye glasses, rolling papers, tobacco, some food, some drink, paperclips, toothpicks, whatever, in my 'purse' it is really a bag I sling over my shoulder when I am running around, many refer to it as my 'purse', what do I care?

I thought you meant your Desk at work, that desktop looked like that, so I tried to figure out what all that stuff was that you had laying on your desk. I figured your boss was trying to figure it out too. lol, then, I got it, OH, DESKTOP! I don't know about me sometimes!

Jim,

Don't worry. I don't think what you carry is called a "purse". It's a "man sack". :)

Is it a messenger style bag?

I don't usually carry purses myself. Currently I'm using a JanSport Philly Messenger bag, and I love it. This is my style. I suppose I'm really a tomboy at heart still. I'm not into fashion, shoes, purses, make-up, etc. I'm just into being me and dressing and living comfortably. I don't have to impress anyone.

Christi,

Thanks so much for participating! I really enjoyed glancing at your desktop, and seeing that yours is nice and neat.

You should have seen my desktop before I reformated my hard drive! You could hardly see my background.

I missed the fossil question when it was asked but I am interested.

There was a past and there may be a present but they do not exist now. A fossil may be real and be experienced but all conjecture about its past is mental activity which may displace awareness of NOW. The “past” is a PICTURE of something that was real, the present IS something real (relatively speaking). We often think of them as similar but they are fundamentally different. This difference is the difference between dreaming and waking, false and real. The past is false because we treat it like an experience when in fact it is not. Unfortunately the same is very often true of our present.

Now I see the fossil question and I realize that I am in the wrong thread. Sorry,

"Man sack?" That sounds like it could have more than one meaning.

Mossy,

You gotta watch out for those double entendres! You never know when one is going to sneak up on you. Hehehe!

I really liked how you put the past and present in persceptive, here. It makes sense. I think this statements sums it up nicely: "There was a past and there may be a present but they do not exist now." Although I wonder if you meant "future" instead of "present", because the present does exist now.

Sophia,

I am happy that I made sense, at least in part, and I am glad that you are getting it.

It is difficult to convey something so simple. It is a bit like saying “Grass is green”. Everyone knows that the past does not exist now but the significance of it can be elusive.

What I said about the present was unclear. I meant that we take our mental picture of the present to be a real experience in the same way that we take our mental picture of the past to be a real experience.

How’s it going with Skype? Have you made any contacts yet?

Kaushik,

I'm glad you like it. There are so many beautiful photos on the site where this came from. I had a difficult time picking which one I liked best!

If you'd like to know the site's address, I can find it for you.

Mossy,

Thank you for the further explanation. I think I got it now.

I've only used Skype once so far. I talked to Mushtaq on it for about a half hour. It's not like using a real phone but it's free and will allow me to connect with anyone, therefore it makes the world even smaller and I couldn't be happier. :)
