What Does the Lovers' Book Say Today?

From time-to-time, I like to consult a book that was given to me a few years ago by my long-time friend Charlie.

I have a sort of mini-ritual I perform with it, and it's worked every time. It's kinda like consulting the I-Ching.

So tonight... I close my eyes and press the book to my forehead, saying, "Please give me a verse that applies to our journey right now." (Or something like that.) And so... with my eyes still closed, I flip through the book, and when it feels just right, I stop. I open my eyes and take a quick glance at the page, looking for what I was meant to read. And now, we have this, which I type for all my fellow lovers -

"A long chain of equivalences links all the lovers in the world." ~Roland Barthes, from _A Lover's Discourse_.

Ah yes. Gotta love mystical writings disguised as mundane romance. Just listen to the music on the radio and you'll hear what I mean.

Sophia,

So, really, all one has to do is to write a book where every verse is relevant.
