My Serial Number - INFP, 4w5 sp

I'm in the midst of a discussion with someone about personality types, and I take an interest in this subject as it is allowing me to learn a little bit more about myself, what my hidden motives are, etc. I suppose it might be considered a step in the direction of transformation. I don't know how I can submit my ego if I don't know my ego very well. Finding the ego has been like looking for a needle in a haystack. There are many things about myself that I don't like, such as my tendency to be self-absorbed. It really doesn't help that I score 100% introverted on MBTI tests. I have taken the MBTI test a number of times over the past couple years and the result has stayed the same. I've also taken various Enneagram tests from various sites to be sure I have the right results.

Here are some graphics that show some of the results of the MBTI, Multiple Intelligences and Enneagram tests I've taken.

I was going to ask about the INFP i saw in your profile and what it meant? Thanks for answering ;-D

I've done some Enneagram tests ...i find them very interesting...

Are you going to take the MBTI? http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

If you feel open, I'd like to know about your results on both MBTI and Enneagram.

I like your new profile picture. You have a nice smile, Kathy. I've always thought that about you.

Kathy Trejo said...

Okay...I'm going to have dinner and I'll be back later tonight and the test...looking forward to it :)

Thank you Sophia (((Big HUG)))

Kathy Trejo said...

LOL i deleted my profile pic...maybe I'll put it back

Sophia said...

Enjoy your dinner. :) I'm feeling a bit hungry myself.

About your profile picture - I can see that you are trying to go beyond your comfort zone but it is hard for you. I also have a hard time putting my face in my profile. I always try to cover as much of it up as I can. I wonder... we both might have self-esteem issues?

Kathy Trejo said...

O i do for sure...have self-esteem issues.

Kathy Trejo said...

but this my face...and why should i cover it? getting rid of our ego doesn't mean disappearing...LOL

Sophia said...

What was high school like for you? (Answer whenever you are done with dinner... no hurry!)

Sophia said...

I'm thinking we might have self-esteem issues because of past events.

I'm reading this book right now, called "Till We Have Faces", and the main character decides to spend the rest of her life wearing a veil so no one can see her face.

Kathy Trejo said...

That was fun doing! here's my results:

Sophia,
Do you really mind those tests to find out about your personality?
Listen your heart and you will know yourself.
Those tests will never evaluate how important is for you a rainbow, a smiley kid or a friendly hug.
All the best!

Sophia said...

Kathy, I could tell we are a lot alike. We're both INxPs!

I think to some I might seem slightly(?) neurotic, or at least I do to myself, and I was hoping to find an explanation - I think the enneagram type 4 result tells me a lot! I almost want to get together with another type 4 and compare notes.

I don't know when or if Orual will show her face ever again. Secretly I'm hoping she's beautiful beyond words but just doesn't know it, but I won't know until I get to the end of the book. I'm almost through with it. I've been daydreaming that perhaps all her life she's been programmed to believe she's ugly, when in fact she is breathtakingly beautiful. I don't know what's under that veil, except for people telling her that she's unattractive, including her own father, who is really a very nasty man.

Sophia said...

Hi Boris,

My inner self wants to be naked and is tired of the heavy unattractive clothing of the ego. There is no freedom in these bulky clothes.

Although, the very thought of a rainbow, smiling kid and a hug made me smile; it really did. I think if the clothes weren't so heavy it would be easier to enjoy those things regularly.

Kathy Trejo said...

I was just reading yours. The "INFPs are highly intuitive about people. sounds like you from what i know of you so far. :) The last time i did the Enneagram i was a 6. I should try it again to see if I've changed...

your book sounds intriguing. Yes I think we have a lot in common. Its been great getting to know you. well...I'm off to bed. hope to chat with you later... Good Night.

I am not sure how one can be hypersensitive and detached at the same time? Perhaps they occur kind of sequentially, one caused by the other, or some such.
I avoid probes into myself as much as possible -- guess that's detached and uncaring.

Hello Sophia, Dear Friend.

Don't waste energy thinking about what is wrong with your machine. It is a deception.

Think about what part of you is not a machine and try to become that.

Anonymous said...

For example, the part of you that can feel your toes. :)

V said...

Thinking and feeling are not two different things. We think and we feel at the same time. What we think determines how we feel.

The same thing applies to perceiving and judging. We perceive and judge at the same time. How we judge things depends on how we perceive them. How we perceive them depends on how we judge them. Hence the hipocrisy of the idea of not judging. We judge anyway consciously or unconsciously. We cannot help but judge. We cannot help but judge according to the content of our minds.

What is unconscious can become conscious. What is conscious can become unconscious. Consciousness can conscious or conscious.

We know very little about the mind.

Kathy Trejo said...

I like what V said:

"...What is unconscious can become conscious. What is conscious can become unconscious. Consciousness can conscious or conscious.

We know very little about the mind."

Thank you V

Kathy Trejo said...

V,

i hope you see this...can you give me a few examples of How "unconscious can become conscious." or.."What is conscious can become unconscious." it helps me understand more....
thanks V

V said...

"What is unconscious can become conscious. What is conscious can become unconscious. Consciousness can be conscious or unconscious."

Thoughts for example. And habits.
Good or bad. ;)

V said...

"The good man brings out of his good treasure what is good; and the evil man brings out of his evil treasure what is evil."

V said...

"Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."

--The Bible.

The heart being the unconscious or subconscious. The mouth the conscious.

Opinions are another example.

Kathy Trejo said...

Thanks V for your comments. So your saying that Evil is unconscious and good is the conscious?

trying to understand. can an evil heart become good? or vice versa? is that what you mean by unconscious and conscious?

my understanding is that conscious is alive and aware and unconscious means your knocked out and totally unaware of anything....like dead.

Kathy Trejo said...

but our consciousness pure consciousness has no opinions?

Kathy Trejo said...

Thanks V :)

Congratulations! You seem to have knocked a few points off of your perfectionism quotient.

These tests seem to match well with your astrological profile.

It's 1111. Maybe this is a special day for Sophia. :) I hope so.

To Kathy, just thinking: IMO intelligence is mostly unconscious. Nature is intelligent but largely unconscious. And the unconscious is not really evil. It's what we put into our consciousness consciously or unconsciously that becomes evil eventually thru indoctrination, brainwashing, or teaching. Beliefs for example can turn good people into bad people.

We are selling awareness, especially passive awareness as the one solution to all our problems. But conscious awareness is just a very small part of our intelligence, like a peephole. Intellignence is mostly unconscious. Our biological fuctions which are highly intelligent and which are happening all at the same time are unconscious processes.

God, therefore, is most of the time unconscious. Sleeping. That's how I see it.

V said...

The ego is not a thing or an entity. It's a process and is evolving or devolving. It doesn't disappear at all during our lifetime. And perhaps it continues after the death of the body. Not quite sure about that.

And the ego is not self. Or no-self. It's just a program in the machine. So we shouldn't take things personally. ;)

V said...

There is really no self at all. Just an ego. And it is quite useful.

V said...

It's like we all have a Personal Operating System, so the bodies can interact and form a network. Without that we are vegetative.

But there are no soul in the machines. If you believe that then you know you are really selfless.

Bob said...

In my opinion one needs to ignore the ego -not try to understand it.

Darkness doesn't exist as an entity...it's just the absence of light.

Hi Kathy, I have this web cam built into my laptop and there are all these cute backgrounds for it. I think my cheeks look chubby, but I wanted to smile instead of the cold stern look I had in my last profile picture.

Did you retake the Enneagram test?

I know I am more intuitive than I give myself credit for. I was glad to score so high there because intuition is a very important part of my spiritual path.

Sophia said...

Goatman, it's fun to learn about yourself. Well, at least to me it is. :)

What I find exciting about the MBTI, Enneagram and Astrology are how the results describe me so well.

And now I'm finding out that I was able to guess my good friend's personality type perfectly because she's so much like me. We were at dinner last night and I just blurted out, "Are you by any chance an INFP?" Sure enough she is! Though on occasion she switches to INFJ.

The description for my husband's type said the ideal match for his type is INFP - that's me!

You should try it. It's fun! I'd love to know your results.

Sophia said...

Hi Mossy, can you please explain to me what a perfectionism quotient is?

Thanks, my 11/11 was nice. I spent most of it with my mom and sister. I'm still here at Mom's house, spending the night - a little slumber party.

At 11:00pm the Channel 11 news came on, so we were watching 11 @ 11. I made sure to look at the clock at 11:11pm on 11/11. :)

Kathy, P.S. - I saw your comment on Mania's blog about your new fish. If you take the photograph at an angle to the glass, instead of facing the glass head-on, the flash won't show up as much in the photo. Instead of reflecting back at you directly, the flash will go off at an angle in the other direction from you - the angle will be equal to the angle at which you face the glass.

Bob, Wikipedia states that darkness is also called "lightlessness". I had never heard that term before. Now I have a new spiritual word to play with.

Kathy Trejo said...

V,

Your words - "The heart being the unconscious or subconscious. The mouth the conscious."

Sophia said...

I agree, Kathy. Lots of friends commenting on this post. Perhaps I should write about personalities more often. After all, we all have one. :)

I get sidetracked a lot, too. I also tend to procrastinate.

Hello Sophia,

Great picture. You are really cute.

PQ is just something I made up because it seems to me that you used to be more of a perfectionist and you are better off without it.

Just think how exciting 11:11 on 11/11/11 will be! Just kidding. You can find the mystical anytime and anywhere you want if you are there for it.

"You need not leave your room.
Remain sitting at your table and listen.
You need not even listen, simply wait.
You need not even wait, just learn to become quiet, and still, and solitary.
The world will freely offer itself to you to be unmasked.
It has no choice; it will roll in ecstacy at your feet."

so you want the ego to e-go...

just one point we should be aware of:

take your time while taking off your clothes... each piece at a time... this way that hidden shadow will get used to the temperature of the reality... and will be more healthy...

I have done this test thrice on my personality.info.

Two times in a row, it declared me an INFP. And then when I took this test for the third time, this time it declared me an INSP. I was confuse.

So I decided to take another but this time on another site.Human Metrics. And it also declared me an INSP.

Personally, Its hard to guess, whether I am a dreamer or a creator? BTW, I am more comfortable with this INSP.

I have decided not to take these any further so leaving it the way it is. ( good for me)

Sophia, thanks for sharing this. Love to know about you.

Hi Sophia,
why not getting that horoscope made, of which the enneagram is a weak substitute.
I gives a kind of chart over yourself to let you navigate better, and it gives a kind of freedom or relief, that if a horoscope can describe one self so precise, it must be the same for everybody, that you are not so exeptional alone, and furthermore, it can show you where you can change what you think are negative sides to positive, by using them consciously.
Greetings,
Kim
