Earlier in the afternoon yesterday I took a nap. I had a dream which I vaguely remember, but I recall that I was in the living room of someone's house, sitting upon the couch and having just received a tin lunchbox. Inside were lots of little candies from my grandmother.
Last night I had a nightmare. Like the earlier dream, I don't remember much of it. However, I do recall a corpse being brought into a room. At first it was covered in a bag. Then, the people removed the corpse and its face was all red and blotchy from having started to decay. It smelled of rot. I thought I would be sick. I tried to run to get away from the sight and smell.

No dead people dreams here, Stacey. You might want to avoid spicey foods. :-)
I'm on page 249 now. I didn't get much read over the weekend but I hope to read the second half this week. Right at the half way point the book takes a dramatic shift!
Actually, I did have spicy food yesterday for lunch. :)
I haven't been taking much time out of my day to read, so I'm like a turtle right now. But, I'm about to leave for Mexico, and I plan on getting a lot of reading done in the airport and on the plane.
Stacey,
That is great that your going to Mexico. It is so much more emotional that the US. I lived in San Diego for a while and spent a lot of time in Tijuana. Where are you going?
Hi Beard,
We'll be flying into Cancun, Mexico, then we're driving down a highway to Tulum, Mexico. We're staying at a hotel called "Sunscape Tulum" on the Riviera Maya. We'll arrive on the 10th and return on the 14th, so it's only a very short vacation, but I just need enough time to swim with the dolphins and do a little bit of snorkeling in the underwater caverns known as cenotes. http://www.yucatantoday.com/destinations/eng-cenotes.htm
Here's the hotel:

I will be swimming with the dolphins at the Xel-ha Park. http://www.xel-ha.com/
We will be going to the ruins at Tulum and Coba.

If there is time, we'll go to the Xcaret park.

Wow!
I looked at all of the links. It sounds like a really great vacation.
Say hello to the dolphins for me.
Striking pic. Looks like she is being attacked, possessed... not in a good way.
It's a painting by Johann Heinrich Fuseli called, appropriately enough to both the subject and Stacey's post "The Nightmare".
Hi Beard,
In dolphin-speak I will say "hello" to them for you. :) I'll even give them a little kiss. (I can't wait!)
Cancun sure looks a lot more fun!
Definitely a lot more fun than the boring old Louisville, KY area. I'm anxious to get out and see people who live for their culture.
I know Fuseli, but I didn't know that there is a second version of The Nightmare.
If you come across an image of the other version, please send it to me.
Hi Change,
I do not have your email address to send the painting to, so I hope this link will work instead:

I've seen other versions of The Nightmare, though not by Fuseli.
There is another painting by Fuseli that I ran into tonight that I'll probably write a post on tomorrow or sometime soon. I want to get some opinions on it.
