I have reached my goal of $100 for the March of Dimes walk that is taking place this Saturday. Thanks to everyone who donated. It really means a lot to me that you are supportive of me and this charity. Walking for a good cause is nice, but it's even better when you have people behind you, supporting you.
I feel uncomfortable asking people for money, but the good feeling I have from knowing that it is going towards a good cause makes it easier. I see that this is part of a charity worker's business.
Now all that's left to do is to walk four-and-a-half miles!

Wow, I think that is neat that you are going to do the walk. Where I work, they ask for volunteers all the time. Do I go.... :( sadly, no. I find it hard enought to find time to breath most days. I would like to give back alittle more than I do, but for now.... it is what it is.
Drink plenty of water a few days before. Eat some carbs, it is about the only time they will truely be good for you, and some protein. (lol peanut butter on a bagel, with a gallon of water to wash it down)
That is great. You will have a good time!!! Maybe a little sore, but it will be worth it!
I used to give a lot of money to the church. Back when I was very gullible. Even as a young student I gave enough money away.
Now I have become meaner. Even mean to myself. Altho I buy many things from charitable institutions. Books and knick-knacks.
Good luck! I'm sure it'll be more fun than the treadmill too.
Good luck!
Totally off topic but I decided to use your template with a few modifications. Only realised afterwards that we use the same one.
I am sure that you will have a lot of energy sent to you so that this walk will be easy! Great job on acheiving your goal.
Hi Lucid, the walk turned out wonderfully. The weather was absolutely perfect. At one point I regretted wearing the black shirt that our team picked out for us, but other than that it was great. Everyone walked faster than I expected. I'm a little out-of-shape right now so I got a bad cramp in my left calf muscle, but about a half-hour into the walk it went away.
I do not consider myself an activist but this experience has left me feeling a nice sense of satisfication that I've given back to the world somehow. I might try to do more things like this in the future.
Anonymous, I used to give more money away, back when I didn't worry so much about my future. I still give money away, though, usually at the end of the year. Where I live charitable donations are tax-deductible.
Brian, you got that right! The scenery wasn't that exciting but being around other people was.
Thanks, Leighton!
Hi Leighton, my template is the minima one, with a few added widgets on the side. Someday I may make it more colorful but for now it is nice and simple which seems to make it easier to read.
Thanks, Mark! All the extra energy helped. It's nice to have people behind me!
